Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch a duo of new seven-seater luxury SUVs, the EQB and GLB on December 2, 2022. The company has also started the bookings of both the SUVs at a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh online and at their dealerships.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB will mark the brand’s third EV debut in 2022, followed by the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ and the Made-in-India EQS 580 4MATIC. The brand will also be launching its ICE sibling, the GLB on December 2.
2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB
With EQB, the company will strengthen its EV portfolio in India. Also, the EQB is the first seven-seater EV by Mercedes in India. In terms of exterior, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB will carry the same silhouette as the GLB. It will come equipped with a signature EV front grille, front and rear wrap-around LED bar and new headlamps. The India-spec Mercedes-Benz EQB is expected to be priced from around Rs 80 lakh.
As far as the cabin is concerned, the Mercedes-Benz EQB is likely to be similar to the GLB SUV. Mechanically, the Mercedes-Benz EQB is offered in two tunes – EQB 300 with 228 bhp and EQB 350 with 292 bhp in the international market. The electric SUV makes use of a 66.5 kWh battery that offers a WLTP range of 419 km per charge.

2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB
Referred to as the ‘Mini GLS’, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB will be the second seven-seater SUV in the portfolio, after the GLS. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is a seven-seater SUV that will borrow the interior design from its sibling, the GLA SUV. It will come equipped with the door pads, seats, sloping dash, a long single-piece touchscreen and instrument panel similar to the GLA. Mechanically, the Mercedes-Benz GLB will make use of two engine choices – 190hp 220 diesel and the 163hp 200 petrol.
