Mahindra unveiled its first all-electric C segment SUV, the XUV400 at Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai recently. Earlier this year, the company also showcased its Born Electric Vision range of SUVs in the UK. The XUV400 EV will be followed by other electric vehicles by the brand in India over the next few years.
Through these partnerships, Mahindra states that it hopes to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure in India. Leveraging the strengths of the EV infrastructure partners, the company aims to offer benefits to all stakeholders in the EV ecosystem.

“We approach these partnerships as an opportunity to offer robust EV infrastructure solutions to our customers, quickly. This will also help us in moving a step forward towards achieving India’s net-zero goals,” Veejay Nakra, President – Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said.
The all-electric XUV400 is based on the Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV. The electric SUV is expected to begin reaching dealerships soon, followed by opening of bookings and price announcement sometime in January 2023.
Claiming a range of 456 km, the XUV400 draws power from a 39.4 kWh battery pack. It gets a front-axle mounted electric motor that produces 150 hp and 310 Nm of peak torque. The company claims the XUV400 can sprint from 0-100 kph in 8.3 seconds, making it the quickest in its class. It has a top-speed of 150 kph.
